A fabulous antique Victorian floral cluster of Emerald and Diamonds; all romantic notions and hand crafted specialness, this perennial blossom is an intriguing beauty.
The deeply verdant Emerald displays the natural 'jardin' inclusions so named because of their resemblance to moss or tiny speckles of algae within the gem, and they are spread throughout but small and don't interfere with the translucency or vibrancy of the stone.
The Diamonds are very special themselves, being rare olden 17th century stones which were recycled in the making of this ring which was custom made to suit them. Each a marvel of nature simply shaped to let loose the sparkle but keep their crystalline structure in line with the technology of the times... all laboriously faceted by hand without the benefit of electricity. What a wonderful story!
It's terribly difficult to measure these antique Diamonds without unsetting them all but we estimate at least 0.60ct combined weight. The ring is all in 18ct yellow Gold and size can easily be altered to suit, but measures a 'Q' or '8' as is. The cluster measures 12.60mm by 15.50mm and we calculate the Emerald weighs in the region of 1.75ct.
